The Setup: Tongits is played by exactly 3 players. A standard 52-card deck is used. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players get 12 cards each. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the centre.
The Objective: Be the first to empty your hand by forming and laying down valid card combinations — sets (same rank, different suits) and runs (consecutive ranks, same suit). Going out with zero cards in hand is called a Tongits and wins the round outright.
Drawing: On your turn, you draw the top card from the central pile. You can also pick up a discarded card if it completes a meld you want to play — this is called a "fight" or sapaw. After drawing, you may lay down melds or add cards to existing melds on the table.
Discarding: End your turn by discarding one card face-up. The discard is available for other players to fight on their next turn. Strategic discarding — giving away cards that cannot help opponents — is a key skill in Tongits.
Calling a Draw: Any player who has laid down at least one meld can call a draw at any time during their turn instead of discarding. All three players then count the total point value of remaining cards in hand. The player with the lowest count wins.
Burn (Pasukan): If the draw pile runs out, the round ends automatically and the player with the lowest remaining hand value wins. This is called a burn and counts as a victory — just not as clean as a Tongits.
Winning and Scoring: A Tongits win (emptying your hand) pays the highest. Winning a draw call pays second-best. Winning a burn pays the base pot. At WinLuck, all winnings are settled in PHP and credited to your balance automatically after each round.

You want to call when you have significantly fewer points in hand than you estimate your opponents have.
